An easy pace 6.5K barefoot treadmill run this morning. At 7:00 AM, when I started my (indoor) run, it was windy, snowy, and -5C outside. Ah, this treadmill stuff is good!
A bit of an experiment today… I tried running with my eyes closed for brief periods (1.5 to 2 minutes at a stretch). I had to rest my hands lightly on the hand rails to keep from going (literally) off track. But it was interesting – it gave me quite a different sense of how my body was moving. I think I’ll experiment further with this. It will provide some diversion on longer treadmill runs, and will also deepen the “treadmill trance” effect.
