I did 17K on the treadmill yesterday, and today’s a rest day for me. So this morning I went to the pool and swam 30 lengths, and followed that with a nice soak in the whirlpool. This afternoon, I’ll do some light weight work and an extended stretching/yoga session. Tomorrow, I’ll be back to running with 8K on the treadmill, and then will do a 15K run on Wednesday.
When you’re active on a regular basis, your body and mind don’t quite know what to do with a rest day. Making it an activity day (but not a running day) will renew you both physically and psychologically. When you think about it, it’s a great deal – rest and renewal, all in the same day!
