These solitary summer morning runs are doing me a world of good. Bright sunshine, quiet streets, and treading lightly on the road seem to work perfectly well.
An 8K barefoot run this morning. The temperature was 21C, and the sky was clear. There was no traffic at all to contend with, except when I crossed a couple of bigger roads. Many of the residential streets I ran on were dappled with sunshine and shadows. I shared “hello’s” and “good morning’s” with a couple of dog walkers and one other runner, but it was a quiet, peaceful world otherwise.
I didn’t have a goal or an agenda for this run. I didn’t have to hurry, because it’s Saturday. So the world opened up peacefully and gracefully.
Just couldn’t be any better, could it?
