In my last post, I noted that most runners ignore me (at least on my neighbourhood training runs). So I feel honour bound to report that, this morning, I had the pleasure of being noticed.

As I was finishing my 8K loop, a runner came towards me. I did my usual smile and wave, and she did the same. Then she said “You’re amazing!” We stopped to chat, and talked about barefoot running a bit. She said that she’d read some things about it, understood that it was “supposed to be better,” and was “hugely impressed” that I did it.

So there. It seems I’m not as under-appreciated as I’d thought. 🙂
